《似水華年》華人紀錄片節目，為觀眾精選由華人拍攝製作的多元類型華語紀錄片，內容包含社會關懷、自然生態、歷史人文…等面向，帶領觀眾透過紀錄片，認識臺灣及華人社會，並對更多弱勢族群、環境土地…賦予更多關懷。

主持人在紀錄片播映前以其觀點引言，引導觀眾收看紀錄片，並在紀錄片映後邀請導演或專家來賓，針對紀錄片內容進行導讀及延伸對談，帶領觀眾從「從光影中，追尋人生真諦；在言談間，找到生命答案。」

A View in Time is a series of documentaries by producers from the Chinese-speaking world. Selected by audiences, the documentaries touch upon a wide variety of topics including nature, culture, history, society, as well as other issues. A View in Time offers a glimpse into Taiwan and other parts of the Chinese-speaking world, with a particular focus on care for the environment as well as socially disadvantaged groups.

Each episode begins with an introduction to the documentary by the program's host. After each documentary, the host engages in a dialogue with the film's director and experts to provide in-depth analysis of each documentary's topics.
